Laboratory Information System (LIS) in Cyprus

Datamed, in partnership with TECHNIDATA, has installed and supports the Laboratory Information System (LIS) in Cyprus.

The solution covers the entire laboratory workflow. It starts with the order and sample collection, continues with the interfacing with analysers and the validation of results, and extends all the way to delivering them to the physician and the patient. It also includes specialised modules for Microbiology, Pathology/Cytology, Blood Bank and Quality Management.

The system scales from single laboratories to multi-laboratory networks and offers:

• workflow automation and reduced test turnaround time (TAT)
• full traceability at order, sample and patient level
• quality control tools and support for ISO 15189 accreditation
• user rights management and a complete audit trail

Through the international HL7 and ASTM standards, the LIS interfaces with hospital information systems, the Electronic Health Record, prescribing and billing systems, as well as with laboratory analysers.

Datamed’s specialised teams handle the entire project lifecycle: installation, configuration, user training and ongoing support.

New LIS by Datamed: In parallel, Datamed’s Software Development Department is developing a new, proprietary Laboratory Information System, designed around the needs of Greek hospitals. The new system will gradually replace the existing LIS in Greek hospitals.
