RETENTION project

RETENTION

Management of heart failure patients through continuous out-of-hospital monitoring and Real World Data

Acronym: RETENTION
Grant agreement no.: 965343
Funding: European Union – Horizon 2020 (SC1-DTH-12-2020)
Duration: 1/5/2021 – 31/10/2026
Total budget: 5.983.244,94 €

Summary

RETENTION is developing an innovative digital platform for the management of chronic heart failure. It continuously monitors patients at home, including patients with a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) and heart transplant recipients, and leverages real-world data.

The platform collects medical, physiological, behavioural and psychosocial data through a mobile application and wearable medical devices. Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques, it supports clinicians in decision-making and in timely, personalised interventions, aiming at fewer hospitalisations, lower mortality and a better quality of life.

The effectiveness of the platform is being evaluated in a randomised controlled trial (RCT), which started in April 2024 in six European hospitals and includes 390 patients.

Development of intelligent multi-level information systems and specialised Artificial Intelligence algorithms for the personalised management of childhood and adolescent obesity

Project code: T1EDK-01386
Funding: NSRF 2014–2020
Programme: EPAnEK – “Research – Create – Innovate”
Duration: 28/6/2018 – 27/6/2021
Budget: 620.111,20 €

Summary

The PEDOBESITY project focuses on the prevention, recording, personalised management and long-term monitoring of childhood and adolescent obesity in Greece, through intelligent information systems and Artificial Intelligence technologies.

In collaboration with the First Department of Pediatrics of the NKUA Medical School, Datamed developed and expanded the National Registry for childhood obesity, integrating an electronic health record, digital services for doctors and patients, as well as mobile applications for children, adolescents and parents.

The project leverages clinical, biochemical, endocrinological and genetic data, with the aim of developing risk prediction algorithms and supporting personalised treatment decisions.
