Datamed is participating in the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s National Prevention Programme “PROLAMVANO”. It is the first organised, digital and free prevention system in Greece. The programme does not wait for citizens to take action on their own; instead, it invites them in good time to have their screening tests, via SMS and an electronic referral.
“PROLAMVANO” has already changed the culture of prevention in the country: more than 6 million citizens have had their free screening tests. With the new phase of the programme, from September 2026 to 2030, prevention becomes a permanent national policy. Datamed is proud to contribute to one of the most important reforms in Public Health, with the vision of a health system that prevents, not just treats.
Actions
The company participates in the four main actions of the programme:
Breast cancer prevention (“Fofi Gennimata”): free digital mammography for women aged 50–69, with automatic issuing of a referral for an ultrasound when further examination is needed.
Cervical cancer prevention: organised screening for the female population.
Colorectal cancer prevention: early detection of one of the most common cancers.
Cardiovascular disease prevention: lipid profile, blood pressure measurement and medical history recording, as well as cardiovascular risk assessment for men aged 40+ and women aged 50+.
In this context, Datamed has undertaken the implementation and support of the programme’s information systems, as well as interoperability with the Electronic Health Record, drawing on its many years of experience in national-scale Health IT projects.
BI (Business Intelligence)
Datamed provides Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for “PROLAMVANO”, which turn programme data into actionable knowledge for decision-making. Through interactive reports and dashboards, key indicators are monitored, such as citizen participation by action, age group and geographical area, the number of referrals issued and tests carried out, as well as the citizen’s journey from invitation to completion of screening. These reports support the planning, evaluation and continuous improvement of the programme, with full respect for the protection of personal data.
