Datamed is participating in the implementation of IHCIS-2, the new Integrated Health Information System of the State Health Services Organisation (SHSO) of Cyprus, in partnership with IBM and the OTE Group.
It is the largest IT project in the Cypriot public health sector, with island-wide coverage of all public hospitals and 45 Health Centres. It replaces the previous system, which had been operating since 2007 in only two hospitals, and extends digital coverage to the Organisation’s entire network.
At the core of the project is a Unified Integrated Hospital System with an Electronic Patient Record, shared by all healthcare facilities. It is complemented by a unified laboratory information system that interconnects all laboratories, and an integrated Blood Bank management system covering the entire chain: from blood collection and analytical testing to the production of blood products and the distribution of blood derivatives through each hospital’s Blood Bank.
The system is integrated with the ERP and HR management systems, with more than 20 external government and international bodies, as well as with decision support systems (DSS) and data libraries for the correct selection of pharmaceutical substances.
The project includes the implementation study, the design and development of specialised software, the implementation of two private data centres, the supply of peripheral equipment and the training of healthcare facility staff.
The goal is a unified electronic patient record across the entire network, the automation of processes and the upgrading of health services for citizens.
