New Datamed Project at H.D.Y.K.A. as Subcontractor to the OTE – BYTE Consortium

As a Subcontractor to the OTE-BYTE Consortium, Datamed is actively participating in the project undertaken by the OTE-BYTE Consortium concerning the “Provision of Production Operation Services for the H.D.Y.K.A. e-Prescription System”. This is a framework agreement between the Consortium and H.D.Y.K.A., with a 36-month timeline and a maximum budget of €2,950,000.
The project provides:

  • e-Prescription System Operation Services
  • New Functionality Integration Services
  • Application Production Support Services
  • Telephone Support Services
  • Project Management and Administration Services

The aim of the project is to ensure the business continuity of the production operation of the e-Prescription System (EPS) and to make full use of the capabilities developed during its implementation. Through this project, H.D.Y.K.A. aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Faster fulfilment of business change requests from the competent institutional bodies that require interventions / modifications / enhancements to the functionality of the EPS
  • Establishment of the EPS as the main platform for providing e-health services to health professionals and citizens – extension of its functions to a wider range of applications
  • Increase in the scope and level of support and satisfaction of system users
  • Ensuring the highest possible level of availability and responsiveness of the EPS, with immediate (real-time) response to unexpected and unforeseen changes in its use
  • Optimisation of the management and use of the infrastructure resources committed to the operation of the EPS
  • Increase in the system’s level of security and in the organisation’s readiness to manage risks and crises

It is worth noting that Datamed, in cooperation with the above Consortium and true to its strategic goal of developing and delivering national health applications, has successfully implemented, on behalf of H.D.Y.K.A. and as part of the e-Prescription project, the National e-Appointment System – eRDV, which enables appointment scheduling in all primary care facilities. Since 2015, the system has allowed citizens to book appointments via predefined five-digit numbers for a small charge, while since December 2016 citizens across the country have been able to book appointments free of charge directly at all PEDY units and most Health Centres. In addition to the e-Appointments application, the Datamed team, through the same partnership, made a substantial contribution to the development of national e-services on behalf of H.D.Y.K.A., such as the Patient Summary, the National Personal Electronic Health Record and Patient Consent – all nationwide applications.
